In Russian, there’s a classic mnemonic phrase to help you remember the rainbow colour order:
Ка́ждый охо́тник жела́ет знать, где сиди́т фаза́н.
(Each hunter wants to know where the pheasant is sitting.)
The first letter of each word corresponds to a colour:
- К — кра́сный
- О — ора́нжевый
- Ж — жёлтый
- З — зелёный
- Г — голубо́й
- С — си́ний
- Ф — фиоле́товый
